Trip Info

Best Time for the Nepal Experience Tour

One of the greatest advantages of the Nepal Experience Tour is its accessibility. Unlike high-altitude treks that are strictly seasonal, this itinerary is designed to be available all year round by Best Heritage Tour. Because we utilize helicopters for the mountain segments and stay in the lower-altitude "Golden Triangle" (Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan), we can offer a safe and spectacular experience in any month.

However, each season paints our country in a different light. Here is what you can expect throughout the year:

Spring (March-May) is one of the most popular times to travel, with clear skies, moderate temperatures, and blooming rhododendrons coloring the hills. Mountain views from Nagarkot, Pokhara, and Annapurna Base Camp are at their best during this period, making it ideal for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Autumn (September-November) offers crisp air, stable weather, and spectacular Himalayan panoramas. This is considered the peak season for trekking and aerial tours, with perfect conditions for Everest Mountain Flight and helicopter rides to Annapurna Base Camp.

Even summer (June-August) and winter (December-February) have their advantages. Summer brings lush greenery, cultural festivities, and fewer crowds, while winter offers a serene experience with snow-capped peaks, clear skies, and cooler temperatures - perfect for those seeking a peaceful Himalayan escape.

Best Heritage Tour, offer this package throughout the year, with professional guidance ensuring safe, comfortable, and enriching travel experiences regardless of the season. No matter when you choose to explore, Nepal’s mountains, wildlife, lakes, and heritage sites await, promising a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime journey.

Permits Required for the Nepal Experience Tour

To ensure your journey is as smooth and lawful as possible, Best Heritage Tour manages all the necessary paperwork on your behalf. Nepal’s protected areas and heritage sites require specific authorizations to ensure conservation and your safety.

Below are the mandatory permits and entry fees required for the Nepal Experience Tour:

1. Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)

  • Mandatory for all visitors entering the Annapurna Region by air or foot.

2. TIMS Card (Trekkers' Information Management System)

  • Even for a helicopter landing, a TIMS Card is often required for safety tracking and emergency search-and-rescue protocols.

3. Chitwan National Park Entry Permit

  • To enter the core jungle zones for your Jeep safari and canoe ride, a government-issued park permit is essential.

4. UNESCO World Heritage Site Entry Fees

  • Required for sightseeing in Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Squares.

5. Nagarkot & Local Governance Fees

  • A nominal fee collected at the entry point of the municipality.

Documents Required for Permits

To ensure your permits are ready by the time you land in Kathmandu, Best Heritage Tour will need the following from you before your trip:

  • Clear Passport Copy: A scanned color copy of your passport (valid for at least 6 months).

  • Passport-Sized Photos: 4 recent digital photos (for permit forms and conservation logs).

  • Nepal Visa Copy: To legally obtain all the permits

  • Travel Insurance: Your policy must explicitly cover emergency helicopter evacuation at altitudes up to 5,000 meters.

Accommodation & Meals

At Best Heritage Tour, we believe that where you rest and what you eat are as vital to your journey as the destinations themselves. We have carefully selected accommodations that reflect the spirit of each location while ensuring modern comforts and authentic flavors.

Accommodation

For this journey, we prioritize 3-star standard comfort and authentic atmosphere. We select properties that offer a blend of traditional Nepalese hospitality and the amenities a modern traveler expects.

  • Kathmandu & Pokhara (3-Star Boutique Hotels): You will stay in centrally located 3-star hotels (such as those in the vibrant Thamel or serene Lakeside areas). These properties feature air-conditioned rooms, en-suite bathrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, and peaceful courtyards that offer a respite from the city's energy.

  • Nagarkot (Mountain View Resort): Our selected resorts in Nagarkot are positioned specifically to provide unobstructed views of the Himalayan range from your balcony or the communal garden. Expect cozy rooms designed to keep you warm during the crisp mountain nights.

  • Chitwan (Jungle Resort): In the subtropical lowlands, you will stay in a dedicated safari resort. These lodges are built using local materials to blend into the landscape and feature lush gardens, swimming pools, and rooms with private verandas - perfect for listening to the symphony of the jungle at dusk.

Meals

We have structured our meal plan to provide both the security of inclusive dining and the freedom to explore Nepal’s booming food scene.

  • Daily Breakfast: A full breakfast is included at your hotel every morning in all locations (Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Pokhara, and Chitwan). You can expect a mix of Continental (toast, eggs, juice, coffee) and Traditional (Puri Tarkari or Sel Roti) options to fuel your day of sightseeing.

  • Full Board in Chitwan: Because the jungle resorts are self-contained hubs of adventure, all meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) are included during your stay here. These meals typically feature a "Jungle Buffet" with a variety of Nepali, Indian, and Chinese dishes, including the famous Dal Bhat (lentil soup and rice).

  • Lunch & Dinner in Cities: For the rest of your trip (Kathmandu, Nagarkot, and Pokhara), we leave lunch and dinner open. This gives you the freedom to "explore the menu" of the many world-class restaurants available.

Special Note: If you have specific dietary requirements (Vegan, Gluten-Free, or Halal), please inform Best Heritage Tour at the time of booking. Our partner hotels and jungle resorts are highly experienced in catering to diverse dietary needs.

Trip Difficulty & Fitness

Overall Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

By Himalayan standards, this tour is classified as Easy. Because we utilize private vehicles for all ground transfers and helicopters to reach the high-altitude Annapurna Sanctuary, the physical demand is significantly lower than a standard trek. You can expect 70% of the tour to be leisurely sightseeing and 30% to be light activity.

Walking Requirements

While you won't be hiking for 6 hours a day, you should be comfortable with:

  • Heritage Walks: Walking for 2-3 hours at a time on paved or cobblestone streets in Kathmandu and Patan.

  • Jungle Exploration: Navigating uneven forest paths during short nature walks in Chitwan.

  • Light Stairs: Climbing stone steps at Sarangkot or some of the ancient temple complexes.

High-Altitude Access (The Heli Factor)

The most physically demanding part of any Nepal trip is usually the altitude. On Day 05, we land at Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m).

  • The Experience: Since you arrive by helicopter rather than on foot, your heart rate remains stable.

  • The Safety: We limit our ground time at the base camp to roughly 20–30 minutes to prevent altitude sickness symptoms. This allows you to soak in the views and take photos without the risk of overexertion.

Fitness for the Jungle

In Chitwan, the activities are thrilling but not strenuous. Whether you are on a Jeep safari or a canoe, the vehicle does the work for you. You only need the mobility to step into a small boat and climb into a 4x4 Jeep.

Health Considerations

We recommend this tour for anyone in generally good health. However, because of the brief landing at high altitude and the Everest flight, we suggest a quick consultation with your doctor if you have:

  • Severe heart or respiratory conditions.

  • Significant mobility issues (though we can customize transfers to minimize walking).

Preparation Tips

No intense training is required! To make your experience even more enjoyable, we suggest:

  1. Light Cardio: Brisk walking or swimming twice a week for a month before your arrival.

  2. Comfortable Footwear: Ensure you have a pair of well-broken-in sneakers or walking shoes.

  3. Hydration: Start the habit of drinking plenty of water daily - this is the best way to help your body adjust to the changing elevations.

Health & Safety

The Nepal Experience Tour is designed with the highest standards of health and safety to ensure a secure, enjoyable, and worry-free journey. Travelers can explore Nepal’s mountains, jungles, and cities with confidence, knowing that Best Heritage Tour prioritizes well-being at every step. From carefully chosen accommodations to guided excursions, safety is integrated into all aspects of the tour.

During jungle activities in Chitwan National Park, all safaris, canoe rides, and nature walks are conducted with trained guides who follow strict safety protocols. Travelers are briefed on wildlife encounters, emergency procedures, and responsible conduct to ensure both their safety and the preservation of the natural environment.

For high-altitude experiences such as the Annapurna Base Camp Helicopter Tour and Everest Mountain Flight, only certified pilots and operators with government-approved aviation permits are employed. Guests are provided with safety briefings, emergency procedures, and secure boarding protocols. Medical preparedness is also ensured throughout the tour. Basic first aid kits, trained guides, and emergency contact systems are in place at every stage of the journey. Travelers are advised to carry personal medications and stay hydrated during flights, drives, and outdoor activities.

With these measures, combined with the professional support of Best Heritage Tour, guests can fully focus on immersing themselves in Nepal’s landscapes, wildlife, and culture, while enjoying the journey with complete peace of mind. Safety, comfort, and well-being remain the cornerstones of this unforgettable travel experience.

Travel Insurance

While the Nepal Experience Tour is designed for maximum comfort, the unpredictable nature of the Himalayas and the inclusion of high-altitude helicopter flights make comprehensive travel insurance an essential part of your preparation. The Nepalese government and local aviation authorities have streamlined requirements for travelers, making insurance a key document for obtaining specific permits.

To participate in this tour, your insurance policy must explicitly cover the following these things:

  • High-altitude rescue up to 5,000meters

  • Emergency medical evacuation and coverage

  • Accidents or injuries during tour

  • Trip cancellations or delays

Best Heritage Tour recommends that all travelers to secure travel insurance in advance and provide a copy for permit processing.

Visa for Nepal

All international travelers (except Indian) need a tourist visa to visit Nepal, which can be obtained on arrival at Kathmandu airport or online.

Key Details:

  • Duration: 15, 30, or 90 days (30 days recommended for this trek)

  • Fees: 15 days - USD 30 | 30 days - USD 50 | 90 days - USD 125

  • Requirements: Valid passport (6+ months), visa form, passport photo, and payment in cash (USD/EUR/GBP/NPR)

Tip: Keep a copy of your visa and passport during the trek and consider applying visa online (through Nepal Immigration Website) for a smoother arrival. Also register to Foreign Nationals Management Information System (FNMIS) as this is now mandatory for any Tourists entering Nepal from 2026.
