Itinerary
Your journey begins with an exhilarating 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to the legendary Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. As the small aircraft weaves through green valleys, you'll catch your first glimpses of the snow-capped giants. Upon landing, we meet our support team and begin a gentle trek. The trail winds through lush forests, past stone-carved "Mani" walls, and alongside the emerald Dudh Koshi River. The air is fresh with the scent of pine, and the atmosphere is serene as we reach the riverside village of Phakding.
Today’s trail is a masterpiece of Himalayan engineering and natural beauty. We cross several high suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Bridge, which hangs dramatically over the river gorge. Entering the Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, the trail ascends through dense rhododendron and fir forests. The final climb is a steep but rewarding push that brings us to the vibrant amphitheater of Namche Bazaar. This bustling market town is the heartbeat of the Khumbu, offering warm hospitality and your first stunning view of Kongde Ri and Thamserku.
We take a slower pace today to allow our bodies to adapt to the thin air. A short, steady hike leads us up to the world-famous Everest View Hotel. As we crest the ridge, the horizon suddenly opens to reveal the sheer majesty of Mount Everest (8,848m), Lhotse, and the needle-point peak of Ama Dablam. We’ll spend the morning on the terrace, enjoying a luxury breakfast or coffee with an unobstructed panoramic view of the world's highest peaks. The afternoon is yours to explore the local museum or the stone-paved streets of Namche.
Instead of a long, punishing descent, today you experience the Himalayas from the sky. We board a private helicopter for an elite tour of the Everest region. You’ll soar over the Khumbu Icefall and hover near the massive South Face of Everest, witnessing the giants from a perspective usually reserved for birds. After the aerial sightseeing tour, the helicopter whisks us back to Lukla. This "fly-over" allows you to savor the landscape you've trekked through from a majestic new height before a celebratory final night in the mountains.
We catch an early morning flight from Lukla, enjoying one last look at the jagged peaks of the Khumbu as they disappear into the clouds. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Whether you choose to spend the day exploring the heritage sites of the city or simply relaxing with a hot shower, the sense of achievement from standing before the world's highest peak will stay with you forever.
