What's the Latest Manaslu Travel Update?
The latest disruption occurred on September 6, 2026, when flash floods affected the Budhi Gandaki and Therang Khola areas around Namrung in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-4, Gorkha. Two important bridges were washed away, disrupting movement along the Manaslu trekking corridor.
A landslide in the Chaurikharka area had affected the Tsum Valley trail. Because of these combined hazards, trekkers are currently advised to postpone Manaslu and Tsum Valley trekking until access and trail conditions are confirmed safe.
Where Did the Landslide and Flood Damage Occur on Manaslu Trail?
The main flood damage was reported around Namrung, particularly near the Therang Khola and Budhi Gandaki River crossings.
Separately, the Chaurikharka section on the Tsum Valley route has been affected by landslide activity. Chaurikharka is an important section of the trail toward Chhekampar and the upper Tsum Valley, making the disruption particularly relevant for travelers planning the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek.
What Damage Did the Disaster Cause to the Manaslu Trail?
The recent event has caused significant damage to trekking infrastructure:

When Will the Manaslu and Tsum Valley Routes Reopen?
